CLARK ART INSTITUTE PRESENTS LECTURE
ON THE EYE AND MIND PROJECT WITH JEONG HAN KIM
Williamstown, Massachusetts—On Tuesday, October 28 at 5:30 pm, the Clark Art Institute’s Research and Academic Program (RAP) hosts a lecture by Jeong Han Kim on The Eye and Mind project and research, which reimagines art appreciation for the visually impaired by developing multisensory methods beyond sight. The talk takes place in the Manton Research Center auditorium.
Integrating art, cognitive science, and AI, the project challenges traditional sight-based approaches by incorporating tactile, auditory, and olfactory experiences. Aligned with the Clark’s mission, the project fosters inclusive, innovative, and accessible art experiences for both visually impaired and sighted audiences.
Jeong Han Kim’s art has been exhibited internationally at Infosphere (ZKM, Germany), Media City Seoul, and Whitebox (New York City). He holds a PhD in cognitive science from Seoul National University and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He is a UNESCO expert on the Diversity of Cultural Expression (2024) and AI & Culture (2025), and a professor in the Department of Painting at Seoul National University.
Free. Accessible seats available; for information, call 413 458 0524. A 5 pm reception in the Manton Research Center reading room precedes the event.
