CLARK ART INSTITUTE PRESENTS
FREE THEMATIC TOUR ON IMPRESSIONISM

Williamstown, Massachusetts—On Sunday, May 19 at 11:15 am, the Clark Art Institute presents a free In Focus tour examining Impressionism. A Clark educator leads a thematic tour of the permanent collection exploring highlights of the Clark’s Impressionist art collection by artists such as Renoir, Monet, Pissarro, and Cassatt. Learn how these influential artists upset the art world in the latter half of the nineteenth century with their controversial ideas and revolutionary artistic techniques.

Free with gallery admission. Capacity is limited. Visitors may pick up a ticket at the Clark Center Admissions desk, available on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, visit clarkart.edu/events. Meet in the Museum Pavilion.

The next In Focus tour takes place on June 23 and focuses on representations of love.

ABOUT THE CLARK
The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts. Acting as convener through its Research and Academic Program, the Clark gathers an international community of scholars to participate in a lively program of conferences, colloquia, and workshops on topics of vital importance to the visual arts. The Clark library, consisting of some 300,000 volumes, is one of the nation’s premier art history libraries.
