February 8, 2017

Williamstown, Massachusetts—In celebration of the Clark Art Institute’s new Henry Morris and Elizabeth H. Burrows Gallery of American decorative arts, the Institute has a special slate of activities planned for Presidents’ Day on Monday, February 20. Regular admission will be charged ($20 adults; always free for members and children under 18) but all activities are free.

All ages are invited to learn more about colonial silver with gallery talks at 11 am and 2 pm in the Manton Research Center. From 11 am–4 pm, join in an open studio session in the Michael Conforti Pavilion for a variety of metallic art-making activities and demonstrations by master silversmith Steve Smithers. At 12 pm and 3 pm, The Eagles Band, a brass band hailing from Pittsfield, Massachusetts, plays traditional American music. Founded in 1936, The Eagles Band is the oldest continuing performance ensemble in the Berkshires.

The Henry Morris and Elizabeth H. Burrows Gallery opens Sunday, February 19.
