CLARK ART INSTITUTE CONCLUDES JAPANESE ANIME FILM SERIES WITH “ONLY YESTERDAY”

Williamstown, Massachusetts—The Clark Art Institute presents a free screening of the Japanese anime film Only Yesterday on Wednesday, March 1 at 6 pm. The film will be shown in the auditorium, located in the Manton Research Center.

Twenty-seven-year-old city dweller Taeko visits country relatives and wonders if she’s been true to the dreams of her youth as she reminisces about her childhood in Tokyo. Isao Takahata directs. PG, 1991;1 hr, 58 mins.

“Anime Wednesdays” celebrates the contemporary art form of Japanese animation with a selection of films from Studio Ghibli, one of the world’s leading animation film studios. The series is held in conjunction with the Clark’s special exhibition Japanese Impressions: Color Woodblock Prints from the Rodbell Family Collection, on view through April 2.
