CLARK, IS183 PARTNER TO PRESENT FIVE-DAY PORTRAITURE CLASS

May 25, 2017

Williamstown, Massachusetts—Instructor Yura Adams of IS183 Art School of the Berkshires leads a five-day class on mixed media portraiture at the Clark Art Institute Monday, June 12 through Friday, June 16, 1–4 pm. The class will be held at the Lunder Center at Stone Hill, located on the Clark’s campus.

Using portraiture on view at the Clark as inspiration, students will be guided through the galleries to identify poses, lighting, and interpretive ideas to take back to the studio, where they will work with live models and photographs to create their own portraiture studies. Different media will be explored throughout the week, beginning with basic portraiture techniques in graphite and progressing to watercolor washes, pastels, and collage techniques. Students will combine media to create a mixed media color portrait.

The course is recommended for ages 15 and up. Tuition is $225 ($195 for Clark or IS183 members) plus an $85 model and materials fee. For more information and to register, visit IS183.org or call 413 298 5252 x100.
