CLARK ART INSTITUTE OFFERS STEAMPUNK PRINTMAKING CLASS DURING SCHOOL VACATION WEEK

For Immediate Release
April 3, 2015

Williamstown, Massachusetts—In conjunction with IS183, Art School of the Berkshires, the Clark Art Institute offers children ages 8–14 a chance to learn the basics of printmaking in the four-day series Steampunk Printmaking. Classes will be held at the Clark Monday, April 20 through Friday, April 24 from 1–4 pm in Hunter Studio, Lunder Center at Stone Hill. The course fee is $190 ($160 for Clark or IS183 members) plus a $10 materials fee. Register online at IS183.org or call 413 298 5252.

Under the instruction of IS183 art educator Lucie Castaldo, students will create art inspired by the Clark’s Machine Age Modernism exhibition while learning a variety of printmaking techniques. Both 2D and 3D works of art will be explored while experimenting with linocuts, monotypes, and bold colors to create a unique series.

Castaldo graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a BA in art history and an initial licensure for secondary visual arts education. She works in photography, printmaking, and paper art.
