CONTEMPORANEOUS TO PERFORM FREE CONCERT AT CLARK ART INSTITUTE

Williamstown, Massachusetts—Contemporaneous, recently recognized for a “ferocious, focused performance” (The New York Times), performs a free concert at the Clark Art Institute on Saturday, September 12 at 3 pm. The concert will be held outdoors on the Spencer Terrace at the Clark’s Lunder Center at Stone Hill.

Contemporaneous is an ensemble that performs the works of living composers through innovative concerts, commissions, recordings, and educational programs. The program includes Dylan Mattingly’s “A Way a Lone a Last a Loved a Long the Riverrun,” Conor Brown’s “Weave,” and Frederic Rzewski’s “Coming Together.”

Based in New York and active throughout the United States, Contemporaneous has performed more than 80 concerts at a wide range of venues, including Lincoln Center, Le Poisson Rouge, Merkin Concert Hall, Baryshnikov Arts Center, St. Ann’s Warehouse, and the Bang on a Can Marathon.

ABOUT THE CLARK

The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts. Opened in 1955, the Clark houses exceptional European and American paintings and sculpture, extensive collections of master prints and drawings, English silver, and early photography. The Clark is located at 225 South Street in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Galleries are open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm (open Labor Day, September 7).
