Jonathan Weinberg is a painter and art historian. He is the author of Speaking for Vice: Homosexuality in the Art of Charles Demuth, Marsden Hartley, and the First American Avant-Garde (New Haven and London, 1993), Ambition and Love in Modern American Art (New Haven and London, 2001), and the forthcoming Male Desire: the Homoerotic in American Art (New York, 2005). Weinberg's paintings are in several important public and private collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Montclair Art Museum. While at the Clark Weinberg will be working on a book entitled Belated Bohemia: Art and Identity in the East Village.
