Frank J. Korom is Professor of Religion and Anthropology at Boston University. He is the author and editor of eight books, including Hosay Trinidad (2003) and Village of Painters (2006). The latter accompanied an exhibition of the same name that he curated at the Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe. During his residency at the Clark, he will be writing a book tentatively titled Visualizing Modernity, which will further explore the encounter between the itinerant scroll painters of West Bengal and the contemporary world at large, with whom he has been working for the past decade.
