Erika Naginski

Erika Naginski, a specialist of seventeenth- and eighteenth-century art and architecture, is associate professor of architectural history in the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University. Her book, Sculpture and Enlightenment, is forthcoming from the Getty Research Institute. Her current project, for which she was awarded fellowships from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation and the Clark/Centre Allemand, treats antiquarianism, architecture, and Enlightenment philosophies of history. Before joining the Harvard faculty, Naginski taught at MIT, was a junior fellow at the Harvard Society of Fellows, and a research fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study. Her essays have appeared in edited volumes and journals such as Art Bulletin, Art Journal, Representations, and Yale French Studies. She serves on the editorial board of Res: Anthropology and Aeshetics, for which she co-edited with Stephen Melville and Philip Armstrong a special issue entitled Polemical Objects.
