Bill Appleton (Kress Fellow in Museum Education) is Director of Public Programs and Education at the Saint Louis Art Museum and has created award-winning programs as part of the museum's school, community, adult, and new technology initiatives. Mr. Appleton is also an adjunct professor at University of Missouri-St. Louis and at Johns Hopkins University where he teaches courses on art and museum education.  At the Clark, he will work on exploring the topic of "Integrating the Arts: Visual and Performing Arts in Gallery Teaching." In the recent past, Mr. Appleton has presented on Shakespeare at the Globe Theatre and on Degenerate Art and Music of the Nazi Era at the Saint Louis Art Museum.  He hopes to identify what practices and strategies are most successful in teaching art and art history through a multidisciplinary lens.
