Jesús Muñoz Morcillo is an art historian and classicist at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany. He studied in Salamanca, Würzburg, and Karlsruhe, and was a research fellow at the Getty Research Institute, where he participated in the Getty Scholar Program on “Art and Ecology” (2019–2020). His research has been funded by DAAD, DFG, Volkswagen Foundation, KIT Foundation, and Schleicher Foundation, among others. His most recent projects and publications deal with ecocritical questions and ancient reception in Early Modern Art. At the Clark, he will do research on Peter Paul Rubens’s landscape paintings from an ecocritical point of view.
