Jeong Han Kim is a professor in the Department of Painting at Seoul National University in South Korea, researching AI’s impact on artistic agency. He is also an artist exploring the intersection of art and cognitive science. He participated in the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s artist-in-residence program with support from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund’s Asian Cultural Council. He was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at DXARTS, University of Washington, Seattle. His work has been exhibited internationally at Infosphere (ZKM, Germany), Media City Seoul, and Whitebox (NYC). Kim holds a PhD in cognitive science from Seoul National University and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He is a UNESCO expert on the Diversity of Cultural Expression (2024) and AI & Culture (2025). Kim collaborated with the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea, to develop an art appreciation program for visually impaired audiences.
