Get directions to the ClarkIt's time for our biggest bash, Community Day at the Clark! Celebrate vibrant artwork, the lush summer campus, and the remarkable women artists highlighted in the exhibitions open this season—A Room of Her Own: Women Artist-Activists in Britain, 1875–1945; Berenice Abbott's Modern Lens; and Mariel Capanna: Giornata. Enjoy free admission to the permanent collection and special exhibitions all day, as well as special activities, art-making, artist demonstrations, and entertainment inspired by these special exhibitions.
Free and open to all. Refreshments available for purchase. Held rain or shine.

Activist Yard Signs
Paint a message you believe in and stake it into the ground for all to see.
Bushey School of Animal Painting
Draw a surprising mix of faux animals inspired by artist Lucy Kemp-Welch’s real school of animal painting.
Button-Making
Create wearable art by pressing images from the Clark’s summer exhibitions.
Mini Room of My Own
Transform a box into your own creative space with a fun range of mixed media materials.
Tabletop Mural
Draw portrait-plates in the style of artist Venessa Bell’s ceramics.
Artists’ Demos and Workshops
Ceramics Demos with North Adams Clay
Try your hand at a pottery wheel, watch ceramic artists as they throw, and help paint a collaborative ceramic plate.
Fresco with Francesca Castellanos
Make a mini fresco inspired by Mariel Capanna’s Wall Painting with Child. Workshops take place at 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm, and 3:30 pm, and run for approximately 30 minutes. Registration is encouraged; capacity is limited; sign up on the day of the event to reserve your spot!
Women Artists at Work
Watch as Abigail Dustin, Lauren Lovato Coyne, and Malaika Ross create works of art inspired by the Clark’s campus.

Let your imagination soar at this play space inspired by Dame Laura Knights’s painting A Balloon Site, Coventry.
Camera Petting Zoo
Touch vintage cameras and get a feel for being a photographer.
Photobooth
Pose for portraits like Berenice Abbott’s subjects and take home your photo strip as a souvenir.
Poetry on Demand with PVD Poetry
Share a topic or belief you care about and receive your very own poem in response.
Tarot Readings with Rebecca Guanzon and Jane Hudson
Explore your spiritual side like woman artist-activist Evelyn de Morgan.

Create art and explore the exhibition A Room of Her Own while listening to New England based pedal and traditional Scottish harpist Rachel Clemente.

Museum Pavilion Terrace
Celebrate the spirit of the Jazz Age with Mama Train and experience their rich female vocals and soulful melodies accompanied by lively instrumentation. Listen as this small act creates big vintage sound.
Great Small Works | 12–12:15 pm, 1:30–1:45 pm, 3–3:15 pm

Experience theatre group Great Small Works’ performance of Three Graces, an Op-Art cantastoria (a banner show with sung recitation) based on the lives of Grace Lee Boggs, Grace Paley, and Grace Kelly.

Museum Pavilion Terrace
Explore themes of self-investment, joy, and the female experience with Raye Zaragoza, a Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter who challenges traditional expectations placed on women as they get older.
