Ralph Lieberman

Ralph Lieberman is an art historian and photographer of architecture and sculpture. He was awarded a Fulbright and grants from the Kress Foundation and the Harvard Center for Italian Renaissance Studies at the Villa I Tatti in Florence. He lives in the Berkshires, dividing his time between part-time teaching, photography, and writing. Currently at Amherst College, he has taught at Williams College, Harvard Universit,y and the Rhode Island School of Design. He has published widely on Renaissance art, particularly Michelangelo, and the relationship between photography and art history, which also furnishes the subject of his Clark project. Lieberman’s art-historical photographs are in many American and European library collections, and more than nine thousand are on ARTstor.
