Get directions to the ClarkEngaging with art can increase our sense of wellbeing and even be an act of self-care. In connection with Mental Health Awareness Month, this May art and wellness are the focus at the Clark. Whether you are in the galleries or out on the trails, there are many ways to access the benefits of engaging with art, such as slow looking and mindfulness practices. From 11 am–5 pm, join us in a variety of activities exploring the therapeutic dimensions of art, including all-ages yoga, guided, mindful walks on our campus, art-making, and more!
Print Room Pop Up: Art & Wellness
11 am–1 pm, Manton Study Center for Works on Paper
View a special display of works on paper exploring themes of mental, physical, and spiritual healing.
Drop-In Art-Making Activities
11 am–4 pm, Clark Center lower lobby
Forest Bathing (ages 16 and up)
11 am–12 pm, Meet in the Clark Center admissions lobby
Join a Clark educator for a mindful walk on the Clark’s nature trails designed to engage the senses. Includes simple writing and drawing activities. Features some sections of uneven and steep terrain.
Yoga for All (all ages)
11:15–11:45 am, Michael Conforti Pavilion
This playful class takes inspiration from the beautiful landscape that surrounds us, including the mountains, trees, water, sun, and sky. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Sketching Self-Care (ages 16 and up)
12:30–1:15 pm, Meet in the Museum Pavilion
A Clark educator leads a drawing activity in the galleries focused on using art to encourage a sense of wellbeing. All materials provided. No prior art experience necessary.
Yoga for Balance (ages 16 and up)
1:30–2:15 pm, Michael Conforti Pavilion
Find your center in this beginner-friendly gentle yoga class. Drawing inspiration from the stability of natural elements, this class focuses on poses that enhance physical and mental equilibrium, cultivating a sense of stillness within.
Forest Bathing (ages 16 and up)
2:30–3:30 pm, Meet in the Clark Center admissions lobby

Sound Bath
4–5 pm, Reflecting Pool Lawn
Enjoy an immersive outdoor sound experience designed to promote relaxation, led by Shannon Toye of Optimal Healing.
Free admission all day. Forest Bathing, Yoga for All, Sketching Self-Care, and Yoga for Balance have limited capacity. Participants may sign up on a first-come, first-served basis in the Clark Center admissions lobby on the day of the event.
