Fahrenheit 451 is a celebration of readers and what is means to be a reader. Without readers, in this world at least, there would be no books. Adapted from the Ray Bradbury novel and directed by Francois Truffaut, Farhenheit 451 imagines a future society that has banned all reading material. The firemen work to keep the fires at the temperature that paper burns. However, one of them meets a book-loving girl, and he begins to rethink his work and his whole world. It is the Clark's pleasure to celebrate the sesquicentennial of the Williamstown Library. On March 9, 1874, the town of Williamstown approved a free public library for its residents. 150 years later, the library continues to enrich the town, making it an interesting, vibrant, active, and involved community. Several months of anniversary celebrations will be held during 2024, including this film series celebrating the transformative power of reading.
