These may be the shortest days of the year, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be full of happiness and light! Get ready to ring in the new year by making your own disco ball or designing a lantern decorated with images from the Clark’s collection. The fun continues as we combine light and a bit of theater to create our own shadow puppets with MAPS (MusicArtPuppetSound), a Berkshire/New York-based arts nonprofit. MAPS leads children in an exploration of shadow play, inventing and performing with both larger-than-life and teeny-tiny shadow puppets. Be sure to check out the pop-up installation of Clark images focused on sunlight and shadows in the Manton Study Center for Works on Paper from 11 am–1 pm.

Free admission all day. Special activities in the Conforti Pavilion and Family Room from 1–4 pm. Special MAPS performances at 1 pm, 2 pm, and 3 pm.

Family programs are generously supported by Allen & Company.
