Due to unforeseen circumstances, this event has been cancelled.
Join Emily Carris-Duncan, Eugene Lew, and Imani Uzuri for a drop-in workshop exploring how feelings, colors, water, voices, and sound resonate.
- 2:00pm: Welcome!
- 2:30pm: Fetch water from the Clark’s Reflecting Pool and listen to its movement.
- 3:00pm: Watch colors bloom. You will dip your textiles into sonically charged indigo and goldenrod dye baths and absorb new emotions and energies.
- 4:00pm: Use your voice to create iron and alum salt patterns on Chladni plates and make impressions on freshly dyed cloth.
5:00pm: Textiles will be dried and displayed as a collection of colored flags.
Activities scheduled between 2 and 5pm can be joined at any time. Textiles will be provided; please dress accordingly if you would like to take part in the dyeing process.
- 5:30pm: As twilight takes hold, Imani Uzuri will lead us in collective song to reflect, honor, and celebrate our prism of experiences from the present, past, and future.
Free. In the case of rain, the event will be moved inside, and the dyeing portion of the workshop will be omitted. Please check this page for updates.
