Explore what it means to be grounded both inside and outside of the galleries. At 2 pm, engage your senses through a guided forest bathing experience—the Japanese practice of consciously connecting with nature in order to slow down and be present in the natural world around you. Then, join us for a guided tour of the Clark's collection at 3 pm, and learn about geologies depicted in various artworks. Design a take-home terrarium so you can stay “grounded” throughout the week and make a collage by playing with the ideas of foreground, middle ground, and background (all used to to create the illusion of depth or perspective in works of art). Don't forget to view the pop-up installation of nature-inspired prints and drawings in the Manton Study Center for Works on Paper from 11 am–1 pm.

Free admission all day. Special activities in the Family Room, Museum Pavilion, and Reflecting Pool Lawn from 1–4 pm. Advance registration required for the guided forest bathing experience from 2–3 pm; capacity is limited. Sign up at the event welcome table in the Clark Center. Forest bathing will take place rain or shine; severe weather moves the event indoors. The geology tour begins at 3 pm; capacity is limited. Meet in the Museum Pavilion.

Family programs are generously supported by Allen & Company.
