Art History and Environment

This year's workshop focused on "environment" in its widest senses and explored the writing of the history of environmental art, art which makes specific demands on, or use of, physical and, specifically, the natural environment. What is the environment? We explored the interpretation of art not as a self-standing autonomous object but as a part of a wider architectural, spatial surround (be that a frame, a building, a complex, or a city).
