Delve into an avant-experimental sonic realm with Jake Meginsky's electronic artistry and the free jazz expressions of Ben Hall and Lemuel Marc.

Lemuel Marc, trumpet, and Ben Hall, trap drums, are touring in support of their forthcoming full-length release, Using Songs to Communicate Plots. The two are engaged in a deep mode of Afro-diasporic excavation searching for vernacular connections between sources as different as Tha God Fahim, Morton Feldman, Charlie Parker, and birdsong. Lemuel Marc is a composer and third-year music student at New England Conservatory. Ben Hall is an essayist and composer who was profiled in Fred Moten's book Black and Blue.

Composer/filmmaker Jake Meginsky, a New Music USA award winner and Massachusetts Cultural Council Fellow in both music and film, has collaborated and performed with an extraordinary range of musicians including Milford Graves, Joan La Barbara, Kim Gordon, Joe McPhee, Thurston Moore, William Parker, and Bill Nace.

Free. Food from Bezzle's BBQ and artist merchandise will be available for purchase. This program is presented in collaboration with Belltower Records (North Adams, Massachusetts).
