The Williams College Chamber Choir presents David Lang's The Little Match Girl Passion in its version for chamber choir, soloists, and percussion. This work was the winner of the Pulitzer Prize for music in 2008. Lang sets the text of the traditional Hans Christian Andersen’s story The Little Match Girl in the form of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, interspersing Andersen’s narrative with his own versions of snippets from Bach.
