In this talk, Alexis Goodin, curatorial research associate, delves into the life and work of the almost-forgotten Anna Alma-Tadema (1867-1943), a gifted painter of portraits and interiors in late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century England. The younger daughter of Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema, she exhibited to much acclaim during her life, and received prestigious commissions. Today, her best known works are delicately wrought, carefully observed views of the interiors in which she lived and worked, including The Garden Studio, which the Clark acquired in 2020.

This is a members-only talk and will be broadcast live. Registrants will be emailed a private link to the webcast before the event.

Reservations are required; please make your reservation by 9 am on January 26.

Beginning November 1, all visitors age twelve and older will be required to show proof that they have been vaccinated against COVID-19 before entering the Clark’s facilities. Please visit clarkart.edu/health for more information.
