Manton Study Center for Works on Paper

Join Kristie Couser, Curatorial Assistant for Works on Paper, for an orientation to the Manton Study Center for Works on Paper. Open to the public by appointment, the Study Center houses the Clark's collection of more than 6,500 prints, drawings, and photographs spanning the history of the graphic arts from the fifteenth century through the early twentieth century. Explore how specially designed lighting, storage, and display features support close examination of artworks that are not on permanent view due to their fragile nature.

The visit concludes with a guided look at collection highlights, including an engraving by Albrecht Dürer, a chalk drawing by Jean-Antoine Watteau, a selection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist prints and drawings, a photograph by Julia Margaret Cameron, and a watercolor by Winslow Homer, among others.

Following the orientation, enjoy refreshments with fellow Clark members and enthusiasts in the Manton Reading Room. Space is limited; reservations are required.
