Instructor: Laleh Khorramian

This workshop immersion focuses on discovering animation as a fine arts form. After looking at the work of some experimental animators to gain a better sense of the history and practice of this field, students explore basic animation principles and methods. The class completes exercises with straight-ahead drawn animation and basic stop-motion using clay and objects. Once students have a sense of the process, they work with a basic free software program on laptops to build a very short animation piece. The skills introduced are ideal for anyone curious about creating work—or transitioning existing work—to incorporate motion and sequence.

Recommended for ages 12 and up; students must bring their own laptops.

Tuition: $225 ($180 for IS183 and Clark members) plus $20 materials fee. Click here to register or call 413 298 5252.
