During the latter half of the nineteenth century, international women artists were drawn to Paris by the city's academies, museums, studios, and salons. In this gallery talk on the special exhibition Women Artists in Paris, Curator Esther Bell considers the significant work of these artists, as well as the obstacles they faced to their artistic instruction and expression.
