Williamstown, Massachusetts—Two free programs at the Clark Art Institute invite children and their parents or caregivers to engage with art: a New Parents Gallery Talk on Friday, December 7 at 10:15 am and Start with Art on Saturday, December 8 at 10 am.

The New Parents program welcomes parents and their infants into the galleries for an informal, guided gallery talk. The program is designed to give parents a break from thinking about “all things baby” and is best suited for parents with pre-toddlers. Strollers and front-style baby carriers are permitted.

Start with Art, designed for preschoolers aged three to six, features themed talks, gallery guides, and art-making activities specially designed for this age group. The theme of this month’s talk is animals. Art projects can be messy—appropriate clothing is encouraged!

New Parents Gallery Talks and Start with Art are supported by generous funding from the officers and employees of Allen & Company, Inc.

The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts. Acting as convener through its Research and Academic Program, the Clark gathers an international community of scholars to participate in a lively program of conferences, colloquia, and workshops on topics of vital importance to the visual arts. The Clark library, consisting of more than 270,000 volumes, is one of the nation’s premier art history libraries. The Clark also houses and co-sponsors the Williams College Graduate Program in the History of Art.
