Williamstown, Massachusetts—In celebration of Youth Art Month, the Clark Art Institute will hold after-school artmaking sessions on Thursdays in March from 3–5 pm. The themed workshops, designed for fourth- to eighth-graders, will be held in a special Young Artmakers Space on the lower level of the Clark Center. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Activities are free and no registration is required; admission to the galleries will be charged.
The sessions are as follows:
March 3: Quick Draw – Make your own thumbnail sketchbook.
March 10: The Original #Selfie – Take a different kind of selfie in our self-portrait salon!.
March 17: Live Wire  – Find out if a drawing can be three-dimensional by making a wire drawing sculpture.
March 24: Fine Print  – Leave your mark on the world with a new personalized stamp.
March 31: String Theory – Explore the world of fiber art with your own woven wall-hanging.

The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts. Opened in 1955, the Clark houses exceptional European and American paintings and sculpture, extensive collections of master prints and drawings, English silver, and early photography. Acting as convener through its Research and Academic Program, the Clark gathers an international community of scholars to participate in a lively program of conferences, colloquia, and workshops on topics of vital importance to the visual arts. The Clark library, consisting of more than 240,000 volumes, is one of the nation’s premier art history libraries. The Clark also houses and co-sponsors the Williams College Graduate Program in the History of Art.
