George Inness, Wood Gatherers: An Autumn Afternoon, 1891
Members Gallery Talk:
Tuesday, June 25, 2013
Join Curatorial Assistant Laurel Garber for a gallery talk about the exhibition George Inness. This exhibition brings together ten paintings by the American landscapist George Inness (1825–1894)—eight from a private collection and two from the Clark. Dating from the early 1880s to 1894, the year of the artist’s death, the works represent the mature phase of Inness’s art, highlighting his evolution toward a more ethereal and evocative depiction of nature.
This event is free. Space is limited; reservations are required. Register online at clarkart.edu or call 413 458 0524.
