8:00 pm

The Gryphon Trio, performing an original program for the Clark, will open with a Haydn Piano Trio, followed by a short multimedia chamber work, “Old Photographs,” with music written especially for this project. The trio will also perform the lovely Ravel Piano Trio and a set of tangos of the Americas. Tickets are $25 ($20 members, $10 students). To order tickets, click here or call 413 458 0524.

Having impressed international audiences and the press with their highly refined, dynamic performances, the Gryphon Trio has firmly established itself as one of the world’s preeminent piano trios and is redefining chamber music for the 21st century. For eight years, the Gryphon Trio has been ensemble-in-residence at Music Toronto. The group tours widely throughout North America and Europe and has recorded extensively for the Analekta label. Deeply committed to the education of the next generations of audiences and performers alike, the Gryphons take time out of their busy touring schedule to conduct master classes and workshops at universities and conservatories across North America. The Los Angeles Times raved, “This is a piano trio that plays with strength and unanimity…big, bold, almost orchestral performances. The Gryphon brings bravura spirit to the piano trio.”

Prior to the concert, enjoy a delicious three-course fixed-price dinner at 6 pm in the Clark Café. There will be several choices of appetizers or soup, entrée, and dessert. $29 per person (does not include beverage, tax, or gratuity). Reservations are required; call 413 458 0524 to reserve.

This program is made possible in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the Cultural Council of Northern Berkshire.
