Lynn Nicholas's award-winning book The Rape of Europa: The Fate of Europe's Treasures in the Third Reich and the Second World War, tells the epic story of the systematic theft, deliberate destruction, and miraculous survival of Europe's art treasures during the Third Reich and the Second World War. Nicholas will discuss these themes with a special emphasis on Williamstown connections to the rescue of looted works.
