Los Angeles Piano Quartet

August 3, 2010
8:00 pm

The Los Angeles Piano Quartet enjoys international stature as the premiere ensemble of its kind. Since its 1977 debut concert in Los Angeles, the group has been in demand for appearances on many of the world’s most prestigious stages. They have been repeatedly re-engaged by major chamber music presenters in North America, and have been featured at the Cheltenham Festival in England, at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and in halls throughout Europe. The quartet has been active in commissioning works from prominent contemporary composers. Hailed by the Washington Post as “Outstanding…a delight” and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch as achieving “artistic perfection,” the group has recorded on the MusicMasters and Pickwick labels.

The Los Angeles Piano Quartet will perform the Beethoven Piano Quartet in E-Flat major, Opus 16; the Mendelssohn Piano Quartet No. 2 in F Minor, Opus 2; and the Brahms Piano Quartet No. 3 in C Minor, Opus 60.

Tickets are $21 ($18 members and students). To purchase tickets, please call 413 458 0524 or visit the ticket desk in the Clark lobby.

The chamber music series is funded by the Alice Shaver Foundation; additional support is provided by Legacy Portfolio Management.

Make a night of it each Tuesday in August as the Clark offers an experience of art, food, and music. The galleries and shop will remain open until 6:00 pm. After visiting the galleries, enjoy a delicious three-course fixed-price dinner at 6:00 pm. There will be choices of appetizer or soup, entrée, and dessert. Reservations required; seating is limited. $25 per person (does not include concert, beverage, tax, or gratuity). Call 413 458 0524.
