Welcome! We are so glad that you have an interest in volunteering with us at the Clark. As both an extraordinary art museum and internationally renowned center for research and higher education, volunteers are an integral part of the special Clark experience.
We invite you to be a part of the Clark’s visitor services team. Our information desk volunteers play a critical role in ensuring that our visitors have an enjoyable and memorable experience, and fulfill the purpose of their visit to the Clark. Clark volunteers may have a passion for art, enjoy sharing the Berkshire hospitality with museum guests, and/or consider volunteering the perfect opportunity to support the institute!
Prospective volunteers must complete a volunteer application. Potential volunteers are willing to commit to required time minimums and should be, or become, a Friend of the Clark. If accepted, new volunteers learn about their role at the Clark through an orientation process, one-on-one instruction, and year-round training sessions. Each prospective volunteer is paired with an experienced volunteer to learn by “shadowing.” In this way, volunteers are familiarized with routines, policies, and resources, and become comfortable with the Clark visitors’ diverse needs and interests. Following a successful completion of the training period, a volunteer will be offered the opportunity to fill an information desk opening.
The Clark appreciates the dedication and support of its volunteers, and we offer volunteer recognition and benefits for various levels of service. Throughout the year, the Clark also offers additional volunteer opportunities to assist with special projects and events.
We’d love to hear from you. Please feel free to contact our manager of visitor services to discuss your interests, skills, and availability.
