ARIAH
(The Association of Research Institutes in Art History)
The Clark is an active member of the Association of Research Institutes in Art History (ARIAH); Director of Research and Academic Programs Michael Ann Holly served as chair and treasurer until 2006. This international consortium comprises twenty-one institutions. Its general purpose is to promote scholarship by institutes of advanced research in the history of art and related disciplines, to provide general information about the scholarly activities of its member institutes, and to develop cooperative projects and programs among them. The Clark is also one of three institutes in the United States that are also members of RIHA, the umbrella body for Art History Institutes in Europe, and the Clark has been instrumental in organizing a joint meeting of these two bodies in Rome in 2008.
