A variety of special exhibitions is offered throughout the year, bringing together works from collections around the world and presenting them in intelligent, enlightening, and visually appealing installations. Recent exhibitions have included Unearthed: Recent Archaeological Discoveries from Northern China; Rembrandt and Degas: Two Young Artists; El Anatsui; Pissarro’s People; Eye to Eye: European Portraits 1450–1850; The Strange World of Albrecht Dürer; Juan Muñoz; Picasso Looks at Degas; Giovanni Boldini in Impressionist Paris; and Dove/O’Keeffe: Circles of Influence.
