Public Education

At the heart of the Clark’s mission is our goal of advancing and extending the public understanding of art, making this a very special place for adults, children, educators, and scholars.

The Clark offers a full series of educational programs for the general public designed to encourage a wide range of audiences to explore, understand, and enjoy the Clark's collections in particular and the visual arts in general. These events include our popular monthly "Looking at Lunchtime" talks that take place on the second Thursday of every month and focus usually on one work in the collection. Other programs include lectures, film series, book clubs, author appearances, and occasional short courses. To learn about upcoming courses, see the Calendar of Events.

Children visiting our website can learn more about the Clark–and try out a number of interactive activities–on our Kids Activities page. For detailed information on family offerings at the Clark, please visit the Families page. If you have any questions or comments, we'd like to hear from you. You can contact us by e-mail at The Education Department or call 413 458 0563. Educators wishing to arrange a school group visit should fill out this form.
