[At the Lotos Club] It seems they have a fine Winslow Homer & that the President [of the Lotos Club] phoned [dealer Charles] Henschel they had a scheme on hand & he might sell him the picture if it went through. Saw the picture on the wall “Sunset, Saco Bay, the Coming Storm.” It was ill lighted & looked dark & heavy in the foreground. We took it down & got in under the light[.] Very fine picture. Suppose they will sell it between $25,000 & $30,000.
