In composition and execution this drawing is similar to the preceding study. Certain minor changes have been made. The lifeguard is looking now away from the women and standing in front of them. The uppermost female figure, drawn here on her side, partially supports herself with her right arm on the right shoulder of her rescuer.

On the reverse is a sketch of a man in a sou’wester cap, drawn in dark brown chalk.
