Sarah Lees, assistant curator of painting, will discuss the title work of "Bonjour, Monsieur Courbet!" as part of the "Masterpieces in Focus" series that examines individual masterpieces in the exhibition.

Eugène Delacroix's Women of Algiers in Their Apartment
July 17, 2 pm
Mark Ledbury, associate director of the research and academic program, will give a talk about this important work as part of the "Masterpieces in Focus" series.

Roundtable Discussion: Collecting Nineteenth-Century Art in the Twenty-First Century
July 31, 2 pm
This discussion will feature a panel of notables including Richard Brettell, director of FRAME (French Regional and American Museum Exchange), and Nicholas Maclean of Christie's, New York.

Master Drawings from the Bruyas Collection
August 7, 2 pm
James A. Ganz, curator of prints, drawings, and photographs, will discuss the master drawings in the exhibition as part of the "Masterpieces in Focus" series.

The Hidden Spanishness of French Romanticism: Delacroix and Courbet
August 14, 2 pm
Gary Tinterow, Engelhard Curator of Nineteenth-Century European Painting at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, will speak.

Bruyas, Paris, and Montpellier: Artistic Center and Periphery
August 21, 2 pm
Ting Chang, assistant professor of art history and communication studies at McGill University in Quebec, will speak. She is a contributor to the exhibition catalogue for "Bonjour, Monsieur Courbet!"

Richard Rand, senior curator of painting, will focus on this important work in the "Bonjour, Monsieur Courbet!" exhibition as part of the "Masterpieces in Focus" series.

Au Revoir, Monsieur Courbet: Courbet after Bruyas
September 4, 2 pm
In the final talk of the "Masterpieces in Focus" series, Michael Cassin, curator of education, will discuss Courbet's work after his collaboration with Alfred Bruyas.
