The Internationally Renowned Vienna Piano Trio to Perform March 16 at the Clark

Acclaimed for presenting classical music with a modern appeal, the Vienna Piano Trio will perform at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute on Sunday, March 16 at 3 pm. Tickets are $15 ($12 Clark members) and can be purchased at the museum shop during business hours, online at www.clarkart.edu, or by calling 413-458-0524.
Hailed by The Washington Post as one of the “world's leading ensembles of piano, violin, and cello,” the Vienna Piano Trio has had debut concerts in Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and London’s Wigmore Hall, as well as at Washington’s Kennedy Center, New York City’s Lincoln Center, Weil Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, and at the Frick Collection.
The trio has won numerous prizes at international competitions. Concerts have been repeatedly broadcast on NPR stations and they have appeared live on WGBH Boston. The group’s recordings have won many awards, including the British magazine Classic CD’s “Top of the Class” award in 1999 and the London Times’s “Classical Album of the Year” in 2000. In August 2003 and February 2004, BBC Music Magazine declared the group’s Volumes I and II of Schubert works to be Benchmark Recordings.
At the Clark, the Vienna Piano Trio will perform the Haydn Piano Trio in E-flat major Hob.XV/29, Smetana’s Piano Trio in G minor Opus 15, and Piano Trio No. 2 in C Major, Op. 87.
The Clark is located at 225 South Street in Williamstown, Massachusetts. The galleries are open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm (daily in July and August).
