WILLIAMSTOWN, MA—The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute presents free family-friendly outdoor summer band concerts on Tuesdays in July beginning at 6 pm. On July 17, the series continues with one of the most dynamic and original bluegrass bands around, Banjo Dan and the Mid-nite Plowboys.

The band—which features Dan Linder on banjo, Willy Linder on mandolin, Alan Davis on guitar, John Drake on bass, and Phil Bloch on fiddle—has a reputation for soulful lead singing, spot-on harmonies, fiery picking, and performances packed with energy, variety, and humor. Banjo Dan has no trouble “igniting the crowd,” according to The Boston Globe.

The Clark’s family-friendly outdoor band concert series offers a wide array of bands with diverse musical styles. The series concludes on July 24 with the Latin guitar world-fusion group Incendio, taking instrumental Spanish guitar music to new and uncharted artistic levels. The summer band concert series is sponsored by Williamstown Savings Bank.

Throughout the series, barbecue fare will be available for purchase and the galleries will remain open for visitors until 6 pm. In the event of rain, concerts will be held in the auditorium.
