Inspired by performers like Nat “King” Cole, Frank Sinatra, and João Gilberto, and the songs of composers such as Richard Rodgers, George Gershwin, James Taylor, Antônio Carlos Jobim, John Lennon, and Paul McCartney, John Pizzarelli has established himself as one of the prime interpreters of the Great American Songbook and beyond, bringing to his work the cool jazz flavor of his brilliant guitar playing and singing.
Pizzarelli has recorded numerous CDs, including Kisses In The Rain, Let There Be Love, The Rare Delight of You, Dear Mr. Sinatra, and the Grammy Award-nominated With A Song In My Heart, among others. He has performed on Broadway and in commercials, his music was featured in the Goldie Hawn/Steve Martin comedy The Out of Towners, and he is also the host of Radio Deluxe with John Pizzarelli. After his recent smash success with the Boston Pops, he was hailed by the Boston Globe for “reinvigorating the Great American Songbook and re-popularizing jazz.” And the Seattle Times called him “a tour de force” and “a rare entertainer of the old school.”
