Get Preschoolers off to a Good Start with Art at the Clark

For Immediate Release

February 01, 2012

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA—Get preschoolers off to a good start...with art (and have a lot of fun, too). On Saturday, February 11 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute warmly welcomes parents and their preschoolers to a Start with Art session focusing on the theme of animals.

Participants are invited to explore the Clark’s collection with a printed gallery guide designed to help parents and preschoolers look at and talk about art. Clark educators also offer age-appropriate “painting talks” that introduce families to eye-opening details in some of the museum’s best-loved works of art. The fun continues with inspiring hands-on activities focused on animals.

This popular series gives parents the opportunity to spend quality time with their little ones in the Clark’s intimate galleries. This free event is best suited for three- to six-year-olds and their parents. No registration is necessary. Art can be messy, so appropriate clothing is encouraged.

The Clark offers a variety of programs specially designed to initiate family participation in looking at and talking about art. Located at 225 South Street in Williamstown, Massachusetts, the Clark is open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm (daily in July and August). Admission is free through May. For more information, call 413 458 2303 or visit clarkart.edu.
