White Rabbits to Rock the Clark

For Immediate Release

January 28, 2011

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA—The Brooklyn-based indie band the White Rabbits will rock the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute on Friday, February 25 at 8:00 pm. The White Rabbits’ only regional appearance, this concert will be a unique opportunity for audiences to catch this up-and-coming young band in a small venue. Tickets are $20 and available online at clarkart.edu or by calling 413 458 0524.

Greg Roberts (guitar/vox) and Stephen Patterson (vox/piano) formed the White Rabbits while attending college in Columbia, Missouri. With Jamie Levinson on drums, Matthew Clark on drums and guitar, and Alex Even on guitar, the group gained enough indie cred with their 2007 debut, Fort Nightly, to convince Spoon's Britt Daniel to produce their follow-up album, It's Frightening. This critically acclaimed new album features the hit song “Percussion Gun,” which has been electrifying audiences at tour venues across the United States.

“The Brooklyn boys are simply talented and nuanced,” said the Village Voice, “with two intelligent dance-rock LPs in their roster and excitable live shows.” Their Clark concert will feature many of their most critically acclaimed songs, such as the visceral “Percussion Gun,” the moving “Company I Keep,” the new sonic territory of “Lionesse,” and the dark, brooding “Right Where They Left.” Heralded for their boundless onstage energy, the White Rabbits have earned a reputation as masters of the deconstructed cover song. With their haunting, energetic indie rock, the White Rabbits “are a force to be reckoned with” (Nylon).

The Clark auditorium features soaring acoustics and excellent sight lines, offering one of the best performance venues in the region. The Clark is located at 225 South Street in Williamstown, Massachusetts. The galleries are open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm (daily in July and August). Admission is $15 June 1 through October 31. Admission is free for children 18 and younger, members, and students with valid ID. Admission is free November through May.
