The Juan Muñoz exhibition features a broad range of works spanning the artist’s career from one of his first works, First Banister (1987), to one of his last, Piggyback with Knife (2001). Of the exhibition Breslin states, “Muñoz’s works installed within traditional museum galleries, as well as in the contemplative spaces of Stone Hill Center and its adjacent terraces, invite dialogues not only with the viewer but also with the surrounding landscape and collections, challenging assumptions of beauty and pleasure, expectation and surprise.”
Juan Muñoz is curated by Carmen Giménez, Stephen and Nan Swid Curator of Twentieth-Century Art at the Guggenheim Museum, with David Breslin, independent curator and 2004 graduate of the Clark/Williams College Graduate Program in the History of Art. It is organized by the Clark and is accompanied by the publication Juan Muñoz at the Clark documenting the exhibition.
The Clark is located at 225 South Street in Williamstown, Massachusetts. The galleries are open Tuesday through Sunday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm (daily in July and August). Admission is free November through May. Admission is $15 June 1 through October 31. Admission is free for children 18 and younger, members, and students with valid ID.
