British Music by the Bala Brass Quintet July 29

The Bala Brass Quintet will perform a free outdoor concert at the Clark Art Institute on Tuesday, July 29, at 6 p.m. On the program are works by British composers Grainger, Holst, Arnold, and Byrd. The concert will conclude the summer series in honor of the current exhibition Turner: The Late Seascapes. Picnics, lawn chairs, and blankets are encouraged. Children receive free balloons.

Based in Hudson, Massachusetts, the Bala Brass Quintet has performed throughout the United States. They won the Bronze Medal at the 2001 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and were chosen as semi-finalists in the Osaka International Chamber Music Festa in Japan. Quintet members are: Chris Parks, trumpet; Seelan P. Manickam, trumpet; Sam Minnich, French horn; Anthony Hudson, trombone; and Adam Porter, tuba.

The galleries remain open until 6:00 pm. on the night of the concert. In the event of rain, concerts will be held in the auditorium.
