For Immediate Release
January 02, 2003
Michael Cassin, curator of education at the Clark Art Institute, will give a half-hour gallery talk on Thursday, January 9, at 12:30 p.m. His topic will be a pair of silver wall sconces made in 1730 by British silversmith Peter Archambo I. The talk is part of the series "Desert Island Pictures," offered at the Clark on the second Thursday of every month, in which curators discuss works in the Clark collection that they would take with them if "stranded on a desert island." The lunchtime program is free. Lunch is available for purchase before or after the talk.
The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute is located at 225 South Street in Williamstown, Massachusetts. The galleries are open Tuesday through Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free through May. For more information call 413-458-2303 or visit www.clarkart.edu.
