For Immediate Release

September 04, 2002

Michael Cassin, curator of education at the Clark Art Institute, will give a half-hour gallery talk on Thursday, September 12, at 12:30 p.m. His topic will be the 1677 painting Landscape with the Voyage of Jacob by Claude Lorrain. The talk is part of the series "Desert Island Pictures," offered on the second Thursday of every month, in which curators discuss works in the Clark collection that they would take with them if "stranded on a desert island." The lunchtime program is free with gallery admission. Lunch is available for purchase before or after the talk.

The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute is located at 225 South Street in Williamstown, Massachusetts.  The galleries are open Tuesday through Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is $10 (members, students, and children free). For more information call 413-458-2303 or visit
