December 04, 2001
Curator of education Michael Cassin will give a lunchtime gallery talk at the Clark Art Institute on Thursday, December 13, at 12:30 p.m. His topic will be the wood sculpture The Virgin with Child by an anonymous 16th-century artist. The talk is part of the Clark's popular "Desert Island" series, offered on the second Thursday of each month, in which Clark curators select a work of art they would take with them if "stranded on a desert island." Admission is free. The talk lasts about one half hour, and lunch is available in the Clark café.
The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute is located at 225 South Street in Williamstown, Massachusetts. The galleries are open Tuesday through Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free through May. For more information call 413-458-2303 or visit www.clarkart.edu.
